The Division of Banks regulates twelve different license types grouped into six financial service industries. To apply for a license as well as link to the laws, regulations, and regulatory bulletins and specific application requirements select and carefully review the Application Instructions in this section.

The Division of Banks licenses mortgage lenders and brokers pursuant to Massachusetts General Laws chapter 255E and its implementing regulations found at 209 CMR 42.00 et seq. Applicants who are interested in pursuing a license to become a mortgage lender or broker should carefully review all laws, regulations, and regulatory bulletins governing mortgage companies prior to submitting an application.
